Is Price Putting People Off Car Buying?
A survey has recently come out that states that around half the people they asked would not be getting a new car this year simply because of how quickly the costs of a new car is rising. So what are the costs coming into play this year and is it really too much to stop someone from purchasing a car?
Emission Tax
Emission tax is actually going to come into play soon which means for the fuel guzzling cars it could cost around £1,000 more this is pretty silly really, cars are just not going to get purchased. Safety should be in cars like the Audi Q5 and Audi TT Coupe. This actually to me almost seems like a fair tax and although the government are pretending to do it for the right reasons, we know it is simply down to the fact they are wanting more money as they are all in debt from the recession.
Even within the bad recession that we have just come out of there were still companies putting the prices up. Vauxhall, SEAT, and Renualt are just three of the companies that put their prices up more than once and Ford increased theirs a record of four times which actually put the price of a brand new Fiesta up by £2,500 by the end of 2009. Are companies really looking into why people are simply not interested in buying from them, how about the price?
On the plus side you can still get a cheap Audi for a reasonably good price so take into consideration that some manufacturers are a lot better than others. The fact is, showrooms rip people off, look around on the internet for the best deals, you are sure to find prices a lot cheaper.
So don’t scrap the idea of getting a new car altogether, just look around!
