1.) Causes more problems than solves. Criminals are only human and they want to be listening to Dolby surround sound as they hotwire you car and have a perfectly air conditioned 15 degrees environment to drive in whilst being chased by the cops. For these reasons (among others) it’s almost always the flash cars that get targeted. This kind of decision can backfire however, when the sat nav guides them to nearest police station by accident and the central locking wont let them out of the car.
