It would seem that a surprising amount of people in the United Kingdom aren’t completely sure how car leasing works, so to give you a helping hand deciding if car leasing is for you, here’s a brief overview of the basics.
In general terms, leasing refers to a method of paying for an using a car for a certain period of time without owning or paying the full price of the vehicle. Contract hire is a very similar process, with the only difference being that contract hire is usually for a set, longer period of time. (more…)

German made cars are renowned for their superior quality, powerful efficient engines and stylish but understated looks, all the things an average person would look for in a car leasing plan. Long standing behemoths of the car market Mecedes, BMW and VW have lately been having to divide their fortunes with Audi who have been gathering momentum over the past fifteen years. Audi has always made great motors but it’s sharp increase in popularity is connected with its buyout by VolksWagen, pumping money into the research and development side of the company VW has hauled Audi up to peak of the automotive industry, improving great on interior quality and range. Fifteen years ago, chances are that no one in the UK would have known of the small Japanese car marque, Subaru. Those that knew of of these far-eastern autos viewed them primarily as farming vehicles that farmering communities would use to ferry their crops and sheep dogs from A to B when the trusty Range Rover was to wide for the twisty country lanes, they were a less attractive option than van contract hire. Of course now the Subaru name is well know in Britain, and has even earned the affection moniker, ‘Scooby’, mainly for its iconic now Impreza model, a popular choice for customers looking into car leasing. It can be a little frustrating when you have a fleet of perhaps 50 company cars, to find you are not attracting the best leasing prices available in the market place. Most business owners in this situation would assume that their fleet was easily lsrge enough for them to be considered important clients, and get themselves better car leasing rates.
As to whether they are considered an important account really comes down to how large the contract hire company is. (more…)

Our contract hire and lease cars are manufactured in different countries throughout the world but nowadays very few of them are British. So where have all the great British cars gone?
Some people cite the role of the unions (particularly during the 70’s) to be the main contributor to the downfall of the industry, whereas others may argue it’s the lack of competitiveness and bad management that characterised companies in this period. (more…)
